Police arrest hit-and-run driver who killed man in Griffith Park after dispute

Search underway for driver who hit and killed a man in Griffith Park following dispute

Authorities have arrested a female suspect wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Griffith Park Saturday afternoon. 

According to Los Angeles Police Department, a man in his 40s was struck by a Lexus at around 3:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of Fern Dell Drive. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

CBSLA has learned that the suspect and the vehicle used in the deadly hit-and-run are now in police custody after she was pulled over in Hollywood on Sunday.

Police disclosed that the woman and man had been involved in some sort of dispute prior to the hit-and-run. They did not note if the man was walking or running at the time of the crash. 

They identified her as Sonia Sovereign, 32. She has been booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $1 million bail. 

There was no additional information immediately available.
