Police searching for 3 suspects involved in two carjackings, shooting in Venice
A manhunt continues for three suspects connected to two carjackings and a shooting in Santa Monica.
Santa Monica Police Department officers first responded around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots being fired during a carjacking in a parking lot located in the 100 block of Main Street, near the border of Venice.
Police said two of the three suspects shot at the victim, hitting at least one car, before driving off into Venice and crashing the stolen vehicle into another one. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
Police said the three suspects crashed near the intersection of Rose Avenue and Main Street before running away on foot.
The victim, who was unharmed, walked to the Santa Monica Police Department to report the crime.
The suspects were described as males, one who is short in stature, wearing a mask, another with a medium build, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, wearing a mask and dark clothing and a third with no further description provided.
Police said at least one suspect is believed to be armed with a semi-automatic weapon.
