Police Search For Suspect In Mar Vista Shooting
MAR VISTA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are looking for a man who shot and injured a 19-year-old man in Mar Vista.
The shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 12400 block of Washington Place, near Centinela Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The gunman reportedly walked up to the victim and shot him in the head.
The victim was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in critical condition, LAPD Officer Jack Richter said.
Police set up a perimeter and were unable to find the suspect, said Sgt. James Mankey, who added that witnesses were "uncooperative with investigators."
Investigators say the victim is a documented gang member, but the exact circumstances and motive for the shooting were unclear.
