Armed suspect in Montecito Heights taken into custody, search for second suspect continues

 A man armed with a gun in a Montecito Heights neighborhood was found and taken into police custody but the search continues as of 8:30 a.m. for a second suspect involved.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded around 4:30 a.m. to a call of a man armed with a gun.

Once the man was located, he led police on a short pursuit until crashing his car. The suspect then jumped out of his car. Police searched for the suspect at East Avenue 43 and Griffin Avenue. 

The suspect said to be a man in his 20s wearing blue jeans and a black sweater was located and detained by police. 

As of 8:30 a.m., the neighborhood perimeter established as an area of search remained as police continue to search for a second suspect involved.
