Police Question Man In Connection With La Verne Double-Homicide After Receiving Tip

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives have questioned a man in connection with a double-homicide in La Verne but said there were some major differences between the man and suspect sketch, including height and weight dissimilarities.

As KCAL9's Crystal Cruz reports, two Los Angeles County homicide investigators spent about an hour inside the Pomona Police Department Thursday questioning the man about the slaying of Shirley and Armie Isom after receiving a tip.

The tip said a man who fit the description of a composite sketch was seen walking in Pomona.

That sketch was released Jan. 7 after the Dec. 26 slaying of the Isoms, who were found in their hilltop estate in the 300 block of Roughrider Road.

In the sketch, the possible suspect was described as a man possibly in his 30s wearing a hoodie.

On Thursday, neighbors said they saw the officers pick up the man for questioning.

After questioning him, though, detectives left with a bag of clothing, the Isoms' case file and doubt, according to Cruz.

A motive for the killings has not been released.
