Rolls-Royce pursued by police through Downtown Los Angeles

Downtown L.A. pursuit of a Rolls-Royce

California Highway Patrol officers were in pursuit of a stolen Rolls-Royce Phantom that took place partly on freeways and ended up on Downtown Los Angeles surface streets.

The chase started around 11:15 a.m. along the 210 and 110 Freeways, where the driver exited at Stadium Way, near Dodger Stadium.

Only a CHP helicopter was following the car at that point, moving to surveillance mode rather than pursuit due to dangers associated with surface streets and high speeds.

The car continued reckless driving, moving in the areas of Spring Street and Hill Street.

Around 11:53 a.m., the Rolls-Royce was at 9th Street and Hill Street, SKYCal lost sight of the vehicle in the downtown area.

Just after noon, the car was said to be in the parking garage at a building on 4th Street and Spring Street, and police were investigating.
