Police investigation of car-to-car shooting snarls 210 Freeway traffic for morning commuters

A police investigation of a Thursday night car-to-car shooting left traffic snarled for early Friday morning commuters on the 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga.

Westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway from the 15 Freeway to Milliken Avenue were closed overnight until about 6:30 a.m. Friday, as police conducted an investigation.  

San Bernardino undercover police officers witnessed a car-to-car shooting near the intersection of 14th Street and Magnolia, in the city of San Bernardino around 9:30 p.m. Police said gunfire struck the unmarked police car, which led to a pursuit on the 215 and 210 Freeway. During the pursuit, the suspect drove at speeds exceeding 100 mph and fired more shots at the pursuing officers, in marked vehicles.

The suspects eventually exited the freeway at Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga,  and were taken into custody, according to the California Highway Patrol.
