Police Investigating Fatal Shooting In Montclair
MONTCLAIR (CBSLA.com) — Police are investigating a shooting in Montclair that killed one person Tuesday.
Authorities were dispatched to the 4600 block of Canoga Street near Ramona Avenue about 5 p.m. after a report of shots fired.
Officers discovered the victim in the passenger seat of a vehicle suffering from one or more apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Montclair police says witness statements indicate there was a verbal confrontation at the vehicle with occupants of another vehicle before shots were fired.
The driver was unharmed. No other victims were reported.
The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored sedan, possibly a Honda or Nissan, and was occupied by at least two suspects, police said.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
