Crash, possible shooting involving an unmarked police cruiser under investigation in South Gate
Police are investigating a crash and a possible shooting that involved an unmarked police cruiser.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, crews responded to the area of Garfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. after a report of a shooting.
Bullet holes could be seen in the windshield of a pickup truck that was involved in the crash. The shooting appears to have happened after a car crash, possibly involving an unmarked police unit.
A driver reportedly got out and started shooting, and the officer fired back. It's unclear if anyone was hit by gunfire.
