Police Investigating Attempted Abduction Of 5-Year-Old In Azusa
AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — Police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping in Azusa.
Azusa police say officers responded to an apartment complex in the 500 block of East Gladstone Monday evening after a male suspect was seen attempting to flee with a five-year-old child.
Investigators say the child and a friend were playing when the five-year-old's mother took her eyes off the children momentarily and heard a scream.
The mother reportedly saw a male in his 20's pulling her child through the complex and she ran after them, but he ran out of sight. The child reportedly escaped and was not injured.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, bald, approximately 5 feet, four inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.
Police say he was wearing blue jean shorts and a short-sleeved white collared shirt with blue and red stripes.
