Police Investigate Vandalism Of 3 Planes At Van Nuys Airport

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — The vandalism of three airplanes at Van Nuys Airport is under investigation, authorities said Friday.

The crime happened about 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Los Angeles Airport Police Sgt. Belinda Joseph said.

"An unidentified male accessed the perimeter fence and entered the secure ramp area," Joseph said. "The suspect subsequently vandalized three aircraft. The extent of the damage is unknown at this time."

The suspect scaled the fence near Hayvenhurst Avenue and Valerio Street and escaped, Joseph said.
