Police Investigate Shooting In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police on Wednesday investigated a shooting that occurred across from a high school in South Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident unfolded shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of Vermont Avenue at 41st Street.

Once at the scene, officers learned an adult man was shot outside an after-hours club, located across the street from Manual Arts High School.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he has been listed in critical, but stable condition.

Detectives said the shooting may possibly be gang-related.

According to the Los Angeles School Police Department, school operations will not be impacted by the incident.

Students were advised to use the north pedestrian gate to enter school.

At this time, no suspect information has been released.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
