Suspicious Package At South Bay Galleria Was Empty Suitcase

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a suspicious package found at the South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach was simply an empty suitcase.

The South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach was evacuated Tuesday morning as police investigated a suspicious package report.

The suitcase was found at the west end of the mall, 1815 Hawthorne Blvd., prompting the evacuations at the mall and in the surrounding area at about 10:30 a.m.

The Los Angeles County bomb squad was called out to provide assistance, police said.
