Pilots Strike Forces Cancellation Of Lufthansa Flights From LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Three departing Lufthansa flights from Los Angeles International Airport were canceled Monday because of a strike by a pilots union.

According to the airline, Lufthansa is working "to devise special timetables" in response to the strike by its Vereinigung Cockpit pilots union.

The flight schedules will be available on the www.LH.com website.

"The special timetables are ... intended to ensure that Lufthansa services can be returned to normal once the strike is over," the airline said.

According to the airline, the strike began at 4 a.m. California time and is scheduled to end at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday.
