Man Killed By Ventura-Bound Metrolink Train

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A man was struck and killed by a Metrolink train heading for Ventura on Friday evening, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and Raymer Street at 6 p.m. after a report that a person had been hit by a train, according to Erik Scott of the LAFD.

Scott said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and age were not immediately available, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Lester Trull.

The incident caused delays for Metrolink trains on the Ventura County line the remainder of the evening, according to Metrolink's Twitter account. Passengers on Train 119 were put on Train 121 at the Chattsworth Station while Train 123 to East Ventura was listed as running more than two hours late.
