Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Long Beach Listed In Critical Condition
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Officers investigated a traffic collision Monday that critically injured a female pedestrian.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were sent around 7:15 a.m. to the area of Pacific Coast Highway at Temple Avenue for report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
A preliminary investigation revealed a silver Toyota 4-Runner traveled eastbound on PCH when it struck a pedestrian that crossed at Temple Avenue.
The 4-Runner then struck a dark grey Toyota Scion headed northbound on Temple Avenue, police added.
The victim, who is only described as a female adult, was transported in critical condition to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Officers diverted traffic in the area as the intersection remained closed during their investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
