Pedestrian hospitalized after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Malibu

Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian hospitalized in Malibu early Tuesday. 

The crash happened at around 5 a.m. in the 30100 block of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. 

Deputies arrived to find the pedestrian, only described as a male, suffering from injuries after he was hit by a car in eastbound lanes of the road. 

He was hospitalized in unknown condition. 

Investigators did not have an immediate description of the car involved or a suspect.
