Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Jurupa Valley

Authorities are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Jurupa Valley early Thursday morning. 

It happened a little before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Sikh Temple Way and Mission Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies say that the victim, who has not yet been identified, was walking on the westbound side of Mission when he was hit by a car driving at an unknown speed. 

The driver stopped and called 911 to the location. Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. 

Investigators say that there was no evidence to suggest that either drugs or alcohol played factors in the crash. The driver, who was not injured, was released from the scene after undergoing questioning.
