Palmdale Man, 50, Held On Suspicion Of Bank Robbery
PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department arrested a 50-year-old Palmdale man Tuesday on suspicion of bank robbery.
Walter Compton was arrested after the LASD's Major Crimes Bureau executed a search warrant on his residence.
The search warrant stemmed from a bank robbery that occurred on March 12, 2014 at approximately 2:30 p.m., at the Union Bank located at 843 W. Lancaster Bl., Lancaster.
The suspect, who witnesses described as a male black, approximately 50-60 years old, had allegedly walked into the Union Bank and demanded money from a teller. After the teller gave the suspect money, he fled. Responding LASD Lancaster Station deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
LASD detectives reportedly recovered evidence believed to be related to the crime.
Compton is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at the Antelope Valley Courthouse.
