PALMDALE (CBSLA.com/AP) — Los Angeles County authorities say five people were burned, two people suffered a dog bites and five dogs died at the scene of a fire in Palmdale.

Fire Inspector Richard Lincon says the blaze was extinguished Wednesday after damaging an outbuilding to a dog rescue facility and burning about two acres of dry brush just west of State Route 14.

Lincon says several other dogs were injured. Animal Control was at the scene.

He says four human patients were treated — three with burn injuries and one with a dog bite. At least one person suffered second-degree burns.
