Original Tommy's Hamburgers To Celebrate 70th Anniversary With 70-Cent Burgers

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - Original Tommy's Hamburgers will be offering their famous Original Tommy's chili burger and a can of soda for 70 cents to commemorate their 70th anniversary next week.

The famous burger spot will also be holding a party May 15 with live entertainment, prizes, and their meal deal at the original "shack" located at the corner of Beverly and Rampart Blvd.

The special meal deal offer will be limited to just five orders per person.

Performances from the USC Trojan Band will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and live music and entertainment will run throughout the day, including mariachi bands.

"We are proud to say that many Los Angeles residents have made it a family tradition to visit The Shack," said Robert Castaneda, Vice President of Operations at Original Tommy's. "We are extremely grateful to this community for the support over the years. We've worked hard to maintain the commitment to the product and our customers that began 70 years ago with Tommy Koulax.

Koulax founded the Los Angeles burger hot spot in 1946.
