Orange County Rescue Mission Needs Your Help To Help Families In Need
TUSTIN (CBSLA.com) — The Orange County Rescue Mission needs your help to help those in need.
The organization needs to collect more than 750 items before Saturday so they can provide for families living at the mission's Village of Hope in Tustin.
"For many of the residents living at the Village of Hope, this will be the first-ever opportunity to give their families gifts for the holidays," said Orange County Rescue Mission President, Jim Palmer. "This opportunity is a blessing not only for the parents who are finally able to provide their children with a holiday gift, but also for the children who, by giving a gift to their parents, can experience the joy and selflessness of giving."
"A lot of these children here haven't ever experienced Christmas let alone their parents be able to provide for themselves. So the parents go completely without," said Linda Rose, event organizer.
The mission is asking for the following items that can be added to its gift shop for the annual "Magic at the Mission" event, where they will be given away on Saturday.
Donations can be dropped off at the Orange County Rescue Mission's Village of Hope at 1 Hope Drive in Tustin.
The donation warehouse is open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
