Sterling was banned from the NBA Tuesday and fined $2.5 million.

Many Clippers fans have shared that they would like to see former Laker great and current Dodgers co-owner Magic Johnson buy the team, along with the Guggenheim group.

After denying initial reports of buying the team, Magic Johnson said at the Miliken Global Conference in Beverly Hills that is willing to buy the team.

"I will be owning an NBA team sometime," Johnson said "Is the Clippers the right situation? Of course. It's one of the premiere franchises. I think the fans have already spoken. They would like us to own the team. But we have to wait and see.""

According to the NBA constitution, 75 percent of the league's 29 owners must approve the removal of a franchise owner.

Despite Silver's remarks, Sterling has no intention of selling the team, which has been valued between $575 million and $850 million, sources said.
