Two people were injured late Sunday evening when off-duty deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department opened fire on two people inside of a Tesla in Sylmar.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a gas station located at Foothill Blvd. and Hubbard Street.

According to investigators, the off-duty deputy reported feeling threatened and was defending himself when he fired multiple shots.
