OC Fair: Bring 5 Cans Of Non-Perishable Food Wednesday For Free Entry, 1 Free Ride
COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) — This Wednesday, the OC Fair is offering a special charity-related incentive to fairgoers.
In association with We Care Wednesday Food Drives, fair organizers are giving free admission and one free ride to anyone who comes to the fair between noon and 3 p.m. with five cans of non-perishable food. (The deal is good for this Wednesday only.)
Representatives from Orange County's two main food banks will be on hand to collect the cans.
"The food donated during the OC Fair Food Drive will help supply the food banks during the lean summer months when food donations typically decline," says Mark Lowry, Director of the OC Food Bank.
Last year, the OC Fair Food Drive collected nearly 40 tons of food.
The OC Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank supply nearly 40 million pounds of food annually to hundreds of Orange County churches, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and social service organizations.
Those organizations also provide food to homeless individuals, the unemployed, people with disabilities, seniors living on fixed incomes, and the working poor.
The OC Fair is located at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa 92626. The Fair runs through August 10. For more info, click here.
