O.C. Husband Gets 28 Years To Life For Fatally Stabbing Wife In Anaheim Hotel Room

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities said a 50-year-old Orange County man has been sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for fatally stabbing his wife in an Anaheim hotel room in 2013.

Officials said Bruce Allen Ohlwine was staying with his 37-year-old wife -- Saori Ohlwine -- at an Anaheim hotel on Feb. 12, 2013.

At some point during that day, prosecutors said Ohlwine stabbed his wife seven times in the chest, eye and legs.

The following day, hotel staff called the Anaheim Police Department to help evict Ohlwine from his room which he had previously refused to leave.

Police officers entered the room and found a large amount of blood covering the walls and floors. Upon further inspection, they found Ohlwine's wife's body in the bathtub filled with blood-stained water.

Authorities arrested Ohlwine after they sent him to the hospital to be treated for a stab wound to his chest and a severed middle finger.

Ohlwine was found guilty of first-degree murder (with a special enhancement for using a deadly weapon) on March 5 of this year. On Wednesday, the same jury found the defendant was legally sane despite his insanity plea.
