Shooting Suspect At Large After Hours-Long Standoff In Norwalk
NORWALK (CBSLA) — A standoff ended Monday morning after several hours, when Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies searched a Norwalk home and did not find the shooting suspect they believed had been holed up in the house.
The shooting was reported at about 1 a.m., according to sheriff's Deputy Tracy Koerner. Deputies arriving on the scene saw the man run into a home on Claressa Avenue near Mapledale Street.
A Sheriff's SWAT team was called to the scene, along with deputies from surrounding sheriff's stations.
Sheriff's officials declared the incident concluded just before 9 a.m.

The suspect, who is believed to be armed and dangerous, was not found, but authorities say he is known to deputies. He is described as being in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and wearing a gray tank top and dark pants.
Two handguns were recovered from the suspect's vehicle, officials said.
