New Security Video Shows Horrific Crash That Killed 3 In Woodland Hills

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — New security video Monday showed a moment of impact that set off a chain of collisions that killed three men and seriously injured two others in Woodland Hills.

Saturday's crash at Ventura Boulevard and De Soto Street was so violent that witnesses like Kevin Lee said he can't get it off his mind.

"Outside it was just chaotic - a bunch of cars crashed. One of the cars was totally demolished, and it was catching on fire," said Lee.

He was working at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant on Ventura Boulevard when customers started asking for fire extinguishers. They used all three of the restaurant's, but they were not enough.

"We actually had to take out a lot of water buckets, and all of the employees were just taking out the buckets trying to put out the fire," Lee recalled. "It was just terrible sight. I've never seen something like that. All the bystanders, all the customers and even restaurant people were trying to help out."

Police said the three victims were inside a Mustang when it slammed into a Mercedes, which was pulling out of a Chevron gas station, and struck two other vehicles before bursting into flames.

Investigators said the men were from Kuwait. One of them was a mechanical engineering student at Cal State Northridge.

Investigators said the driver of the Mustang was most likely street racing.
