Fatality Reported In Multiple-Car Crash On 57 Freeway In Fullerton

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — A fatality has been reported in a multiple-vehicle collision on a busy thoroughfare in Orange County.

The accident on the 57 Freeway happened on the northbound lanes in Fullerton shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

"Eight cars total involved and a big rig," said Sky 9's Stu Mundel. "You can see some of that big rig debris made it onto the southbound lanes of the 57 Freeway, creating a traffic nightmare."

Mundel reported as of 9 p.m. that the northbound freeway only had one lane available, while the debris that made it onto the southbound side was taking up two lanes.

Mundel said traffic on the northbound side was snarled for 2-3 three miles.
