Mother Of 2 Fatally Struck In Homeland Hit-And-Run Remembered By Son, Friends
HOMELAND (CBSLA.com) — A grieving 10-year-old son begged the driver who killed his mother -- a married Homeland mother of two -- to give him or herself up.
KCAL9's Crystal Cruz said the husband and two children left behind are inconsolable.
"I can't believe someone would do that to my mother," said Anthony Campbell, the victim's son. "She had a very nice soul; she wouldn't do anything to anyone. She wanted to live on the Earth like any other person would."
Anthony and his dad Scott Campbell were looking all around Homeland for the car and driver that hit and killed Anthony's mom, Jennifer Blakey, Wednesday night. The hit-and-run also left Jennifer's friend in critical condition.
"I don't know who would do that, but if you did this, can you please turn yourself in?" Anthony asked. "If you have children, I don't want the cops barging in your house and scaring your children. I just want you to do it the easy way."
Jennifer and a friend were walking home along Sultanas Street near Highway 74 when they were hit by a black Ford Mustang.
Drivers are motoring up and down the street, past a memorial made by family and friends like Lynn Robinson.

"Her husband, he worships the ground she walks on, and he's not doing good," said Lynn Robinson, a family friend.
Robinson says Jennifer gave her a friendship ring Tuesday.
Anthony described his mom the same way Robinson described her friend, as an upbeat type of woman.
"She [would] come up to you and say something funny, nice, get you cheered up and make you laugh a lot, and get your day started good."
The CHP says the Mustang is likely to have front and side damage. The vehicle also has a loud exhaust.
