Montclair Police Seek Suspect Accused Of Robbing Man At ATM

MONTCLAIR (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Friday in locating a suspect accused of robbing a man at an ATM.

According to the Montclair Police Department, officers were sent around 7:52 p.m. on Thursday to a Bank of America located in the 9700 block of Central Avenue for report of a robbery.

Once on scene, officers located a victim, who explained a suspect approached him at the ATM and brandished a black revolver handgun, demanding money.

In fear for his life, the victim withdrew an undisclosed amount of money, and gave it to the suspect.

Officers explained the suspect then fled from the scene, heading southbound, in the parking lot towards Benito Street.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 20s that stands 5-foot-7 tall and weighs 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The suspect was seen entering a 2008 to 2012 dark grey hatchback, which could possibly be a small SUV, authorities said.
