Missing Hesperia woman found dead in aqueduct, deputies say

CBS News Los Angeles

Authorities say that the body of a missing woman was discovered in a Hesperia aqueduct over the weekend.

The woman, identified as 69-year-old Supranee Poolswasdi, reportedly left her home in the 13800 block of Mayapple Street at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"She left without her wallet and her cellphone and has not been seen since," the statement released earlier Saturday said. "Poolswasdi has medical conditions and may be confused without her medication."

At around 5 p.m., deputies reported that they were able to follow Poolswasdi's trail to the California Aqueduct nearby with the help of a tracking K9.

"Investigators believed Poolswasdi may have entered the aqueduct and they requested the assistance of the Sheriff's Dive Team," a later statement said.

Divers found her body at around 1 p.m., they said. She was pulled from the water and identified as the missing woman. Investigators say that they do not believe there are any signs of foul play.

No further information was provided.
