Mild Conditions Expected As Santa Ana Winds Dissipate This Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — High winds were expected to dissipate by Saturday afternoon and pave the way for mild conditions through the weekend, forecasters said.

Craig Herrera, a meteorologist for CBS2 and KCAL9, says gusts of up to 45 miles per hour were expected across the mountains of Los
Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

In addition, Herrera says relative humidity was expected to also be down, causing for dry conditions, and fire concerns.

The National Weather Service has issued red-flag warnings across the region, with the exception of the Orange County coastline. Those warnings are set to expire at 6 p.m.

On Friday, dramatic footage captured images of a tree toppling onto a driveway in Santa Ana. High winds were also causing air quality concerns in Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys.

"Yesterday when I was driving into the valley, the air looked dirty, but other than that, that's about it," said Berrie Miller of Santa Clarita.

By Sunday, Herrera said temperatures were expected to be in the low 70s.
