Menifee high school teacher arrested for allegedly assaulting student

A Menifee high school teacher was arrested for allegedly assaulting a student on campus on Tuesday, according to police. 

Officers were sent to Heritage High School, which is a part of the Perris Union High School District, at around 1:45 p.m. after a School Resource Officer was made aware of reported child abuse that had happened, according to the Menifee Police Department. 

"The teacher, 54-year-old Stacey MacPherson, was arrested for physically assaulting a student on campus," the police statement said. "The investigation revealed an altercation occurred between the teacher and student."

While the student didn't require medical attention, they were injured during the melee. 

Police arrested MacPherson for child abuse. 

PUHSD officials placed MacPherson on administrative leave while they investigate the incident.
