Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Murdering Her Husband In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A 56-year-old woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of murdering her husband during a verbal argument at their home in San Bernardino.

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, officers were sent around 8:19 p.m. on Thursday to a home located in the 200 block of East 53rd Street for report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a 66-year-old man suffering from injuries. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Joseph Marcil was identified as the victim. According to the Coroner's office, he died as a result of blunt force trauma.

Paramedics also transported a woman, who was later identified as Karen Marcil, to Loma Linda Hospital for treatment of a substantial injury to her hand.

A preliminary investigation revealed the couple got into an argument, which escalated to a physical altercation.

Karen was subsequently arrested for murder. Officers said she will be booked into the San Bernardino County Jail after she has been treated for her injuries.

According to police, the couple had no prior record of domestic violence incidents.

The investigation is ongoing.
