Man Killed Trying To Break Up Fight In Koreatown
KOREATOWN (CBSLA) - A man has died after trying to break up outside a fight at 7-Eleven store in Koreatown on 6th street and Alexandria.
First responders who reported to the scene at around 2 a.m. found that the Good Samaritan was stabbed by one of the men involved in the altercation. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not identified the victim, but CBSLA Reporter Joy Benedict learned that he was in his 30s, from the South Bay and was in town having dinner with friends.
The victim's friend was also attacked by the suspects involved, though his life injuries are non-life-threatening. He was taken to a nearby hospital as well, after the suspects badly beat him and caused injury.
Benedict reports that the suspect got into a dark-colored truck with two other individuals and fled the scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department said it currently has no leads or details on the suspect but indicated that they will utilize security video to try and track down the suspect. Captain Aaron Ponce , "In the city here we've seen a significant amount of violence, and certainly tragic incidents. People get into disputes and they turn into violent confrontations; unfortunately somebody lost their life tonight."
