Man Killed During Officer-Involved Shooting In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A 22-year-old man was killed Tuesday during an officer-involved shooting in Anaheim.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, two officers were sent to the 1300 block of West Lido Place for report of a suspicious person knocking on doors.

Upon their arrival to Sage Park, authorities did not locate any suspects in the area. The officers then decided to split up and search the surrounding park area.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., one of the officers reported he was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the park.

Paramedics transported a man to a hospital where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No officers were injured.

A preliminary investigation revealed the officer was wearing a body camera during the shooting. Authorities are reviewing the video.

KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reported authorities are using a drone within their investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
