Man Killed, 5 Injured In Huntington Beach Multi-Vehicle Wreck
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say one man from Huntington Beach has died following a multi-vehicle crash that left five others injured.
The accident was first reported about 12:20 p.m. Friday in the 9800 block of Hamilton Avenue, Huntington Beach police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they located eight damaged cars. A total of five people were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from moderate to critical.
The deceased, described as a 44-year-old man, died at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police said preliminary information reveals that a silver Honda was crossing Hamilton Avenue when it collided with a red Pontaic and gray GMC Yukon. Then, police said, the Honda traveled back and struck two pedestrians and five parked cars.
The statement said all of the drivers remained at the scene.
