Man Gets 6 Years In Trafficking, Prostitution Case

SANTA ANA (AP) — A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to more than six years in state prison after pleading guilty to human trafficking and prostitution charges involving 16- and 17-year-old girls.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office says Michael Wayne Greer and a co-defendant met the girls in early 2013 and persuaded them to perform sex acts for money.

Prosecutors say the teens were trafficked in San Jose and then Orange County.

Greer and Jaylin Juwan Marshall were arrested after arranging a commercial sex transaction with an undercover Santa Ana police officer.

Greer, a Sacramento resident, was sentenced Friday.

Marshall has also pleaded guilty to the same charges and is scheduled to be sentenced July 18.
