Man Fatally Shot At Homeless Encampment In Panorama City

PANORAMA CITY (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives on Friday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Panorama City.

Around 5 a.m., officers were sent to Van Nuys Boulevard and West Arminta Street for report of shots fired in the area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival to a homeless encampment, police located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Officials said the victim is believed to be in his 20s.

No suspect information has been provided at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
