Man Dies Following OIS At 7-Eleven In Newport Beach
NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally shot by police in Newport Beach during a disturbance at a 7-Eleven store, it was reported Friday.
The shooting in the 1400 block of Superior Avenue occurred at 8:15 p.m. Thursday when the man approached an officer with a "sharp metal object," according to Officer Jennifer Manzella.
A 7-Eleven clerk suffered minor injuries during the incident, Manzella said.
The man's name was withheld.
No other details were immediately available.
