Burglary Suspect In Custody; SWAT Standoff Over

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A wanted man who barricaded himself Tuesday morning inside of an apartment complex in the downtown Los Angeles area has been taken into custody, officials said.

The Los Angeles Police Department was serving a felony arrest warrant just before 9:30 a.m. for a burglary suspect located in the 700 block of West Seventh Street.

Officials blocked traffic in the immediate area and advised the public to avoid the area of Seventh and Hope streets.

According to police, SWAT officials were called to the scene, but evacuations were not ordered.

Police say a woman who was inside with the suspect not being held against her will was detained for questioning.

It was unclear if there were weapons inside of the residence.
