Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old man accused of committing murder in Fontana remained in custody on Monday.

According to the Fontana Police Department, Edgar Borrego, of Fontana, was arrested in connection with the murder of 57-year-old Juan Gonzalez, of Fontana, on Saturday.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., deputies were sent to the 14800 block of Rosemary Drive.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a Hispanic man, who was later identified as Gonzalez, inside a detached garage on the property.

Gonzalez appeared to be the victim of a homicide, detectives said.

A preliminary investigation subsequently led officers to arrest Borrego on suspicion of murder.

He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

The investigation is ongoing.
