Man Arrested In Connection With Long Beach Stabbing Death

LONG BEACH (AP) — Long Beach police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a 68-year-old woman inside an apartment.

Authorities performing a welfare check found the body of Margarita Valdez Castro on Saturday.

Officials said Sunday that 32-year-old Luis Antonio Jimenezmolina of Long Beach is in custody and could face charges including murder. It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer. Details of the arrest were not released.

Investigators have not named a possible motive but say the attack does not appear to be random.
