Man Arrested Following Burglary, Pursuit And Carjacking In South El Monte
SOUTH EL MONTE (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was in custody Thursday following carjacking and burglary that led to a pursuit in South El Monte.
The pursuit began around 2 a.m. as deputies chased a burglary suspect from a Wienerschnitzel restaurant in the Lakewood area.
The unidentified man led them to East L.A. where authorities said the suspect abandoned his vehicle and carjacked a female victim.
The California Highway Patrol then took over the chase which went into South El Monte.
Officials used a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect who lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a median.
He faces several felony charges including carjacking, burglary and evading.
