Man arrested after woman found dead near Hemet

A man was arrested on suspicion of killing a woman in an unincorporated area near Hemet this week, according to detectives. 

On Wednesday at around 5 p.m., deputies were sent to a home in the 25000 block of Minorca Street, just south of the Soboba Indian Reservation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. 

They were called to the area in order to investigate a "suspicious circumstance." They arrived and found the woman suffering from trauma, but did not offer more details. 

The victim, identified as 56-year-old Denis Maria Christina, was declared dead at the scene. 

The next day, detectives arrested 38-year-old Brian Jerome Patton and booked for murder, the department statement said.
