Man, 53, dies while hiking in Pacific Palisades
A hiker has died at Will Rogers State Park in the Pacific Palisades area, authorities reported Sunday.
Firefighters responded to the park following a report of a hiker in need of rescue along Rustic Canyon just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Upon arrival, they located the patient who was declared dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, authorities disclosed that the the hiker, 53-year-old Los Angeles resident Jay Goldberg, died from a heart attack.
Two rescue units were lowered to the area where the man was found via winch.
