Man, 20, Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Parents At San Juan Capistrano Home

SANTA ANA (AP) — A former Orange County man has pleaded not guilty to killing his parents at their San Juan Capistrano mansion.

The Orange County Register says 20-year-old Ashton Sachs entered pleas Friday to murder and attempted murder.

Prosecutors claim he drove nearly 1,200 miles from Washington state in February and shot his parents, Bradford and Andra Sachs, as they slept.

He's also charged with trying to kill his 8-year-old brother, who was left paralyzed, and a sister, who wasn't injured.

A motive hasn't been disclosed but Sachs' attorney, Seth Bank, says the family's wealth had nothing to do with the killings.

Authorities haven't decided whether to seek the death penalty.
