'Los Angeles Rams' Fans Hold Rally At LA Coliseum

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Hundreds of "LA Rams" fans showed up at the Coliseum on Saturday morning to voice support for the relocation of the Rams franchise from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

The event was organized by members of "Bring Back the Los Angeles Rams" and the "SoCal Rams Booster Club," who seek a return of the franchise that departed Los Angeles in 1994.

Some former L.A. Rams players attended.

"The Rams should never have left. I'm sorry they did," former Ram Kermit Alexander. "We want them back. And we need them back."

Of course, former Rams cheerleaders also showed up to voice their support.

"We cheered for them back in the day," former cheerleader Liza Macawili said. "I still have the moves!"

Fans, some of whom rocked vintage Eric Dickerson and Ron Jaworski jerseys, spoke glowingly about the Rams' 49-year history in Los Angeles. The team played in Los Angeles from 1946-1994.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke hopes to build an NFL stadium in Inglewood.

In a rival relocation proposal, owners of the Chargers and Raiders franchises have proposed playing in a shared stadium in Carson.

But the Coliseum would likely be the temporary home for any team relocating to Los Angeles for next season.

NFL team owners will meet in Houston next week to vote on the three L.A. relocation proposals.

Chargers and Raiders fans -- not to be left out -- flew message-trailing planes over the Rams rally.

CBS2's Greg Mills reported from the rally.
