LAPD search for multiple gunmen after 3 people killed in Toluca Lake drive-by shooting

Police continue their search for a group of gunman that killed three people in Toluca Lake

Los Angeles police are searching for the group of gunmen that shot three people to death and wounded another in Toluca Lake.

Authorities said the shooting happened Monday night just before 9:30 p.m. outside Ernie's Restaurant at the corner of Lankershim Boulevard and Moorpark Street. 

A silver sedan with three or four people dressed in black clothing drove up to the victims' car, a black sedan, and fired several shots at them before speeding away south on Lankershim Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the other two were able to drive to a nearby hospital where they later died. 

The sole survivor, a man in his mid-20s, remains hospitalized. He is expected to recover from his wounds.

Officers have not located the three to four suspects who opened fire on the victims. 

It's unclear what prompted the shooting.
